Volunteering

Training

Volunteers who work on training projects overseas must all be EMDR Accredited Trainers, Facilitators, Practitioners or Consultants who wherever possible know and speak the language of the local region. Training is given in the local language.

Supervision

This is provided, typically via Skype or VSee, to all Trauma Aid UK-trained clinicians both during and post training. Volunteer supervisiors are asked to provide a minimum of one hour on-line supervision to individuals or groups. Supervisors are matched with supervisees who have a similar clinical background and approach.

Currently we hold a database of about fifty supervisors and if you would like to join in with Trauma Aid UK’s supervision work, please fill in the Volunteer Application Form. Supervisors who can work in Arabic or Bosniac are particularly welcome.

Workshop Volunteers

Workshops run in the UK on EMDR and traumatology make a significant contribution to Trauma Aid UK funds.

If you would be able to organise a workshop in aid of Trauma Aid UK projects, we have a Workshop Organisers’ Pack with all sorts of information on how to establish and run a workshop. You can also take bookings through this web site. Please contact us with any ideas.

Sponsorship

beneficiary. Trauma Aid UK Members have undertaken a variety of challenges to raise money.

Mark Brayne (right), a Norfolk-based EMDR Consultant, raised money with his plans to pedal across Europe and Asia to Hanoi (with some help from trains across Siberia).

In the event, sadly (note that not all Trauma Aid UK fund raising comes to grief on the rocks of ill health…), he had to turn back in The Netherlands, but his generous sponsors kindly agreed to their donations being passed on nonetheless.

Michael Tidbury in Peru

In another recent project, Trauma Aid UK Trustee Michael Tidbury raised helpful funds for the cause with a trek along the Inca Pathways of Choquequirao in Peru.

Trauma Aid UK would love to hear from you if you have your own ideas for fundraising for the important trauma support work we sponsor around the world.
